IS MY PICK UP TIME GUARANTEED?
Gold Star Transport does not guarantee a pick up date, however if
we do not have a truck scheduled within 10 days from the date that
you make your vehicle available then your deposit is 100% refundable.
Once we have dispatched or assigned a truck to pick up your vehicle deposit is no longer refundable.
IS MY VEHICLE INSURED?
Your vehicle will be insured against any transport damage caused by
driver negligence. Our drivers, carry a minimum of $750,000 in liability
insurance. Each driver is also required to carry a minimum of $100,000
or move in cargo insurance (depending on the size of truck the vehicle
is being transported on) Enclosed carriers require move cargo insurance.
Gold Star Transport is an Insurance Certificate holder to each driver
and we will provide you with a copy of the insurance certificate once
we have your truck scheduled.
IS MY QUOTE FOR THE DOOR-TO-DOOR SERVICE?
Yes, our quote is for the door to door service, which means that the
driver of the auto transporter will get as close to your door as possible,
Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that will not let them
in some residential areas. Most trucks are very large and need ROOM
to turn around so if your road is narrow or if there are low hanging
trees or wires the driver may ask you to meet the truck in a local
shopping plaza with enough room for the driver to turn around.
WHAT DOES DOOR-TO-DOOR DELIVERY MEAN?
It means that the car carrier will get as close as physically possible
to your front door as long as it does not compromise the cargo and/or
your vehicle(s). If you live on a main road (at least 2 lanes wide)
with no overhanging trees or low bridges and the streets leading to
your house can accommodate trucks of that size and length, then the
carrier will pick up your vehicle(s) from your door and deliver it
to your door if the same conditions apply at your destination. As
the driver approaches your pick-up/delivery location, he will call
you to confirm your address and discuss accessibility. If accessibility
is limited the drive may suggest meeting at a local supermarket or
mall with ample space to load/unload your vehicle(s).
WHAT KIND OF TRUCK WILL MY VEHICLE(S) BE TRANSPORTED ON?
In most cases, your vehicle(s) will be transported on an 8 or 10-car
hauler, the same type of trucks used to deliver new cars to your local
dealerships. These trucks are 75 to 80 feet long (that's nearly twice
as long as a conventional freight truck or moving van) and are almost
14 feet high. Therefore they are very hard to maneuver and are restricted
to main roads that do not have any overhanging trees or low clearance
bridges. Please bear this in mind when directing the truck to your
home or pick-up location. A local service may be used should the hauler/transporter
encounter difficulty in reaching your pick-up/delivery.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR DELIVERY?
Your transport time depends on where your vehicle is shipping from
and to. Most cross country moves take approximately 7 to 10 days.
However, during the winter months these times may be a little longer
because of the road conditions. Please check with our customer service
department for a better estimation of date. All pickup times, transport
times, and dates quoted are simply averages. Each load is different
depending on the individual auto shipping and vehicle transport truck's
schedule.
DO I HAVE TO BE PRESENT WHEN YOU PICKUP OR DELIVER MY VEHICLE?
Yes, you or your designated individual must be present at both the
pickup and delivery points for when the auto shipping or vehicle transport
company arrives.
CAN I LEAVE MY VEHICLE SOMEPLACE ON THE PICK UP OR DELIVERY END?
Gold Star Transport will try to find a local terminal to store your
vehicle in until the truck can pick up your vehicle or until you are
available to pick up your vehicle on the delivery end. There will
be an additional fee that applies to your quote if we need to store
your vehicle for you.
CAN I PUT LUGGAGE OR ANY PERSONAL ITEMS INTO MY VEHICLE?
Yes, you are allowed to put up to 100 lbs. of personal belongings
in your vehicle. It must be confined to the trunk area and must be
well secured. All personal items in the vehicle are placed there at
the owners risk; they are not covered by the truck's insurance. We
do not recommend packing electronics, breakable items or valuable
items. An additional fee will be charged if you put more then 100
lbs. into your vehicle.
WILL MY VEHICLE BE DRIVEN?
Your vehicle will only be driven to load and unload your vehicle.
Usually no more then 5 miles will be put onto your vehicle during
transport. Please be sure to note the mileage on the Pick-Up and Delivery
Inspection Form (also known as the Bill of Lading). Discrepancies
should be noted on the delivery receipt and signed off by the driver.
CAN I HAVE MY VEHICLE PICKED-UP ON A SPECIFIC DAY AND TIME?
Gold Star Transport will try to meet your requested schedule, however
we cannot guarantee a specific pick up and delivery date and time.
WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
VISA, Master Card, cashier's check, postal money orders, or company
checks will be accepted for your deposit only. For the remaining balance
due, all payments must be made via cash, cashier's check, postal money
order, or official bank check ONLY. No credit cards are accepted for
final payment.
HOW DO I CHECK ON THE STATUS OF MY ORDER?
You can e-mail our office or Contact Us us between the hours of 9:00 am
and 11:00 pm EST. and someone will be available to track your vehicle
for you.
WHAT IF MY VEHICLE GETS DAMAGED?
It's very unlikely that your vehicle will be damaged - but should
damage occur, please be sure to note it on the Bill of Lading and
have the driver sign it. Claims cannot be processed by the driver's
insurance company if damage is not noted at time of delivery
